COVID-19 Update

We are thrilled to announce our staff members were able to receive their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in late January. With the first round of vaccines complete, CRCC employees are feeling excited and hopeful for a return to normalcy! While we know there is still much work to be done, this vaccine was a definite step in the right direction. Our second vaccine dose clinics are scheduled for February 17-19!

Our staff have reported very minimal side effects that include: injection site pain, fatigue, headache, mild temperature and chills—nothing that couldn’t be treated with a little rest and Tylenol. While the side effects were annoying at most, our body’s immune response to the vaccine is a good sign!

Vaccine or no vaccine, CRCC is not letting our guard down!  The safety of our kids is of utmost importance to us.  We will continue to follow CDC guidelines and recommendations and take the necessary precautionary measures to protect our clients and staff:

  • Wear a mask over your nose and mouth
  • Stay at least 6 feet away from other
  • Avoid poorly ventilated spaces
  • Frequent hand washing
  • Daily symptom and temp assessment on everyone who walks through our doors (Clients, guardians, employees, etc.)
  • Kids stay with their own class with their own dedicated teachers (no combining of rooms or sharing of staff)
  • Required 14-day quarantine for any known positive exposure

While we know it will take months to vaccinate the entire community, CRCC is confident in providing our kids a safe learning environment. Getting vaccinated is just one step we are taking to continue providing excellent care for all children in the Omaha community.

Kohll’s Rx is now administering the vaccine provided by the counties to nursing care facilities, developmentally disabled (DD) affiliated with DD organizations, and their caregivers. If you fall into this category, please visit the Kholl’s Rx website to receive notice when a vaccine is available for you. When Kohll’s Rx receives the vaccine designated for your group, they will notify you via email and/or text based on the information you provided. The email and/or text will contain a link for you to sign up for a date, time and Kohll’s location for the vaccination.
