For 35 years, Connected Roots Care Center (CRCC) has served Omaha-area children, whether they are typically developing or have unique developmental or medical needs, and their families. As we enter this milestone year with a new name that reflects our deep commitment to families, we invite you to be part of our signature event—the Race for Big Dreams.
Launched in 2022 in partnership with Lisa and Lonny Sund to honor their son, JJ, a former CRCC student, the Race for Big Dreams raises vital funds for the integrated nursing, personalized therapy, and inclusive education we provide to more than 600 children and young adults each year. For many families, CRCC offers more than care—it provides peace of mind, helping their children learn, grow and thrive in a safe, supportive environment.

This family-friendly event is happening September 13, 2025, and includes an untimed 5K and a half-mile fun walk, open to participants of all ages and abilities. A highlight of the day is the return of the Lap of Champions, where CRCC clients and families take center stage—cheered on by the crowd in a moment of celebration, unity and joy.
