Rehabilitation Therapy

Medical rehabilitation is a treatment approach that helps people improve physical, mental and emotional functioning. At CRCC, we offer physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language and feeding services to children with medical and functional limitations. Rehabilitative therapy aims to achieve better outcomes in areas such as:

  • Increased independence with activities of daily living
  • Improved communication skills
  • Improvement of functional mobility
  • Enhancement of cognitive processing skills
  • Greater confidence and empowerment
  • Improvement in safe swallowing skills and oral motor skills

CRCC’s therapy services are built on a foundation of caring, compassion and skill. In both our out-patient and day programs, our team of physical, occupational, behavioral, speech and feeding therapists work together to provide the highest-quality treatment and deliver a brighter future to the families we serve.

Pediatric Physical Therapy

Physical therapy helps children improve strength, balance and coordination to move more easily and safely. Therapists support kids in reaching milestones like sitting, crawling, walking or jumping. It’s great for children with developmental delays, injuries, or physical challenges. Therapists also partner with families to acquire adaptive mobility or seating equipment when appropriate. Play-based activities make therapy fun and motivating!

Pediatric Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy helps kids gain independence in everyday tasks like dressing, writing and playing. Therapists focus on improving fine motor skills, sensory processing, emotional regulation, visual-motor skills and self-care. It’s especially helpful for children who struggle with coordination or attention. OT sessions often feel like creative playtime!

Pediatric Speech-Language Therapy

Speech therapy supports children in developing clear speech, understanding language and expressing themselves. It also helps with social communication and listening skills. Therapists use games, books and songs to keep learning fun. Therapists use speech devices as needed for nonverbal communication or language support. Speech therapy builds confidence in talking and connecting with others!

Pediatric Feeding Therapy

Feeding therapy helps children who have trouble eating, chewing, swallowing or trying new foods. Therapists address oral motor skills, sensory challenges and mealtime behavior. It’s perfect for picky eaters or kids with medical or developmental feeding issues. Sessions are playful and build positive mealtime experiences!

How to Get Started

Contact us to begin enrollment in our therapy services. After the initial phone intake, CRCC will call your insurance company to verify your benefits and get back to you to discuss options. In the meantime, we will also send in orders to your child’s physician. If you have managed care insurance, once it gets the orders back, it will submit for an authorization, which shouldn’t take longer than three days. From there, we will contact you to schedule an evaluation.

If you have concerns, talk with your child’s pediatrician. They are a great resource for helping you evaluate if your child would benefit from receiving therapy to further develop their skills.

CRCC will screen anyone who requests therapy, but certain insurance companies will not pay or authorize services if your child does not have a medical diagnosis. If your doctor has prescribed therapy services, CRCC will take the necessary steps to schedule an evaluation.
