Start your morning with movement, music, and community at the Race for Big Dreams on Saturday, August 22!

This family-friendly 5K and Fun Run/Walk kicks off Big Dreams at 9 a.m. at Stinson Park in Aksarben Village. Participants will race along the Keystone Trail before returning to the park to celebrate the start of an unforgettable day.

After the race, stick around and enjoy everything Big Dreams has to offer — including live music from our DJ, food trucks, family activities, vendor experiences, beverages at The Pavilion, and more throughout the festival grounds.

Whether you run, walk, or cheer from the sidelines, Race for Big Dreams is about coming together to support connection, inclusion, and community for children and families across Omaha.

The 2026 Race for Big Dreams is a welcoming 5K and Fun Run designed for participants of all ages and abilities. Building on last year’s success, the event will include an untimed 5K and a half-mile fun walk. It’s a meaningful morning that brings together families, friends, and supporters to have fun while raising essential funds for the specialized care and inclusive education CRCC provides to more than 600 children and young adults each year.

We’re proud to continue this growing tradition, which celebrates the incredible children in our community. The morning will kick off with the Lap of Champions, where children take center stage. All children are invited to participate as race participants line the course to cheer them on. Our goal is to bring together families from across the metro area to uplift, celebrate, and create a moment of pure joy—plus, every child will receive their own medal.

The Race for Big Dreams is now part of Big Dreams, a larger, free family festival supporting Connected Roots Care Center (CRCC). After crossing the finish line, participants are encouraged to stay and enjoy the full festival experience—featuring inclusive activities, live entertainment, and opportunities to connect with the community. It’s more than a race; it’s a full day of celebration, connection, and impact.
