Some of the most meaningful success stories at CRCC are the children who eventually outgrow the level of support we provide.
From 2021 to 2025, Amelia was part of the CRCC family while navigating a number of medical and developmental challenges during her earliest years. Due to milk and soy protein intolerance and poor oral intake, she relied heavily on a feeding tube throughout her toddler and early preschool years. CRCC’s nursing team worked closely with her family to carefully monitor her nutrition while helping support her growth and development.
Along the way, Amelia also faced frequent sinus infections that eventually required surgery. She was diagnosed with autism at a very young age and received private ABA therapy while attending CRCC, along with speech and occupational therapy services to help reach important developmental skills.
For children like Amelia, success is often built through years of steady progress, careful support and small victories that slowly grow into something life-changing.
By the time Amelia graduated from CRCC in 2025, she was maintaining a healthy weight, receiving all of her nutrition by mouth, and no longer needed the same level of medical support she once did.
Today, she attends the same school as her siblings.
“In all honesty, because Amelia was able to receive such an integrated approach to care, I was able to continue working, her siblings were supported by a community beyond just our immediate family, and Amelia thrived,” said Amelia’s mom. “Amelia would not have the skills she has today, or be living so fully, if it weren’t for CRCC.”
Watching children gain independence and move beyond the supports they once needed is one of the greatest privileges of the work we do.
