Operated from our Northwest center, nestled on a wooded park-like property, this program operates within a secure, state-of-the-art facility. This recreational and leisure program includes group and individual time, with opportunities for indoor or outdoor play. Experiences can include large-motor activities, games, music, arts & crafts, cooking activities, socializing with friends or a quieter atmosphere for a retreat-like weekend. Our Weekend Respite program was designed to provide the entire family a break from the intense structures of the weekly routine and to enjoy a relaxing experience.
Hours of Operation
The program operates from Friday evening at 6:00pm to 11:00am Sunday morning most weekends. Families may choose to have their child attend for the entire weekend, for one night only, for evening hours, or for care during the day on Saturday. Reservations are made in advance to ensure that adequate supplies and staffing are available.
Overnight care is provided in our warm and inviting semi-private bedroom suites. Special infant accommodations are also available, assuring that every child’s weekend experience is as much like their home-away-from-home as possible. Our licensed nurses (RNs and LPNs) provide skilled pediatric care as needed, allowing parents a worry-free break or weekend getaway. Additionally, our low staff to child ratio allows for the personalized nurturing care each child deserves.
Movie Nights are a Friday night event for our clients and a night out for their parents. They get to enjoy a featured movie on the big screen! The night includes dinner, a movie and activities to go along with the featured film. Movie nights are scheduled every 4-6 weeks with overnight care available.
Whether it’s an alien encounter at our “Out of This World Weekend”, an indoor snowball fight at our “Weekend Winter Wonderland”, a karaoke sing off at our “American Idol Showdown”, or telling ghost stories at our “Spooktacular Saturday”, Theme Weekends are all about fun. The weekend program hosts these special events quarterly. There are many different activities, entertainment and special treats all based around a theme. It is a great time for the clients to enjoy a party atmosphere that is designed to fit their needs.
The weekend program is a licensed Respite Care Service by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.
